Dr. Pete Loper, Jr. is a triple board-certified physician, educator, and executive coach dedicated to mental health and wellness advocacy. He practices pediatrics, psychiatry, and child psychiatry in a large healthcare system in the Midlands region of South Carolina. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and he is the Founder and Principal of Pursuit Executive Coaching. Dr. Loper is also an Executive Leadership Coach for The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a husband and the father of four wonderful children.

BIO: Dr. Peter Loper, Jr, MD, MSEd is a triple board-certified physician, educator, and an executive coach dedicated to mental health & wellness advocacy. He practices pediatrics, psychiatry, and child psychiatry in a large healthcare system in South Carolina. He is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and he is the Founder and Principal of Pursuit Executive Coaching.  
 
Originally from Charlotte, NC, Dr. Loper began his undergraduate studies in English at Kenyon College prior to moving closer to home to complete his premedical coursework and Bachelor of Arts at the University of South Carolina (U of SC). He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and his Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Following medical school, Dr. Loper completed a residency in pediatrics and then worked as a pediatrician in a private practice setting while completing a second residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. He has also completed the American Psychoanalytic Association’s Psychoanalytic Fellowship Program and the Teleos Leadership Institute’s Coach Development Program. 
 
Dr. Loper has been published in the Harvard Business Review and in several top medical journals including JAMA, JAMA-Pediatrics, and Annals of Internal Medicine. He has won multiple teaching awards to include the U of SC Department of Psychiatry Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Medical Student Education, the Teacher of the Year award for the U of SC Child Psychiatry Fellowship Program, and the Outstanding Clinical Preceptor award for the U of SC Physician’s Assistant Program. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and he is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the International Coach Federation among other professional organizations.
