BIO: Philip P. Crowley is an attorney who has been handling legal matters for pharmaceutical, biomedical, medical device, information technology and other technology companies for over 30 years. He has also spent nearly 25 years on the board of trustees of the Stevens Institute of Technology, with substantial involvement in the oversight of academic innovation and entrepreneurship. Also among Phil's many professional and personal affiliations, he currently serves as member of the Board of Directors for Brightflag (Ireland), a SaaS company using AI to help corporate law departments analyze, control and reduce outside counsel costs. He is also a Founding Board Member and Secretary for Hope Through Education: A Fund for Better Futures, Inc., an organization focused on providing scholarships on a non-sectarian basis to children in K through 12 seeking to enter private schools.
Crowley is passionate about working with expert people who are focused on creating products and services that save lives, reduce suffering and/or increase quality of life. He is driven to help technology innovators seize opportunities and avoid expensive mistakes as they make ideas happen. Naturally analytic, Phil strives to understand the facts in a global context and synthesize disparate perspectives to reach optimal solutions. Before becoming an attorney, Phil was a physicist, trained at both the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey and Harvard University, and then spent six years on with Wall Street law firms and 32 years as an attorney helping Johnson & Johnson life sciences companies grow and develop. During this time, it was his pleasure to help innovators bring their health care and personal care products to the market. He also gained the insights needed to understand the unique challenges faced by innovators wanting to use their great ideas to help cure disease, relieve suffering and improve quality of life.
